Bering welcomes Rev. Diane McGehee as new senior pastor

On July 16, 2017, Bering Memorial United Methodist Church welcomes as its new senior pastor, Rev. Diane McGehee.


Rev. McGehee graduated from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, and The Harvard Law School. She comes to Bering from the Texas Annual Conference having served there as the director of The Center for Missional Excellence.


Rev. McGehee’s passions lie in justice advocacy and outreach regarding homelessness, immigration reform and assisting the immigrant and refugee population, poverty relief, restorative justice, human trafficking, and advocating for full inclusion of LGBT individuals into the church. She also founded and is director of Together in Hope.


Diane and her husband, Jack McGehee, have five children, two grandchildren, and two rescue dogs. She enjoys reading, writing, theater, the symphony, country music, ballet and other forms of dance; hiking, horseback riding, running, the beach, and traveling to new places and meeting new people.
