Rob Seible has been with Bering from 1987 until 1995, and from 1998 to the present. Under his leadership, the Bering choir has sung for the General Conference of the United Methodist Church (national) in Pittsburgh, as well as the Annual Conference (local) in Galveston. The choir has taken three European concerts tours, which included Italy, Switzerland and France, and has produced four CDs, recorded locally and abroad.

Rob is the founder and artistic director of VOX—The Rob Seible Singers, a professional choir he created in 2007 to explore vocal artistic expression. From selecting the music and organizing the concert schedule to masterfully directing each work, Rob infuses his passion for innovative concepts of ensemble performance.

Rob recently retired as choral director of the esteemed High School for the Performing and Visual Arts after 34 years in public education.

Rob is currently serving as adjunct faculty member for Houston Grand Opera’s High School Voice Program and summer vocal camps, and has been on the faculty of TUTS/Humphrey’s School of Musical Theater. A three-time chorus master/assistant conductor for the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Houston, Rob served as artistic director of the Bay Area Chorus and musical director for the Galveston Island Outdoor Musicals.

Bob Manchester earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in music with a major in organ from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. After graduating from this Methodist institution, he began his military service in the United States Navy as a musician. He graduated from the Navy School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia, and was assigned as piano player for the Second Fleet Admiral’s band. With extensive tours to Europe and the Caribbean, members of the band served as a good will ambassadors, performing a wide variety of music.

After his military service, Bob served as Organist/Choirmaster for St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas, before coming to Bering as organist in 1981. He served until 1989 when he moved to Washington, D.C. While there, he became the Organist/Choirmaster for Westminster Presbyterian Church, one of the More Light Presbyterian congregations. In 1989, Bob returned to Houston renewing his role as Bering’s organist./

Les joined the Bering staff in 1999 and brings to this job almost two decades of experience in church administration. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and a Master’s Degree in Conducting. He has taught high school choir and orchestra, directed church choirs, and conducted and sung professionally, so music and liturgy (especially the celebration of the Mass in Christian traditions) are areas of particular interest and expertise.

Scott has been a member of Bering Memorial UMC since 2004. He joined the Bering staff in 2006. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation and a Master of Science degree in Counseling.

In addition to providing administrative support to the Senior Pastor, Scott maintains the schedule of Bering’s facilities and works with church groups and community groups which meet at Bering; produces church publications, including service bulletins for worship, brochures, fliers, ads, and special mailings. He also provides supervision of building maintenance, grounds keeping and the custodial staff.
